LATVIJAS BIOZINĀTŅU UN TEHNOLOĢIJU UNIVERSITĀTE (LBTU)

Latvijas Biozinātņu un tehnoloģiju universitāte (LBTU) ir starptautiski atzīta zinātnes universitāte Jelgavā. LBTU ir viena no Bioekonomikas pētniecības stratēģiskās apvienības dibinātājām – tā apvieno zinātniekus un uzņēmējus, lai veicinātu jaunas iespējas bioekonomikā. Bioekonomika ietver atjaunojamo resursu gudru izmantošanu, pārvēršot tos pārtikā, lopbarībā, bioizcelsmes produktos un enerģijā, tādējādi stiprinot Latvijas un pasaules konkurētspēju. LBTU Latvijā pārstāv arī pasaulē vadošo pārtikas inovāciju kopienu EIT Food, apvienojot nacionālos partnerus, lai radītu veselīgāku un ilgtspējīgāku pārtikas sistēmu.

Kā zinātniskā institūcija LBTU stratēģiskos mērķus īsteno ciešā sasaistē ar praktisko pētniecību un sadarbību ar uzņēmējiem. Kopš 2006. gada darbojas Tehnoloģiju un zināšanu pārneses centrs (TEPEK), kas veicina zinātnieku un uzņēmumu sadarbību, nodrošina intelektuālā īpašuma aizsardzību un sekmē pētniecības rezultātu komercializāciju. Mēs apvienojam pētnieku zināšanas un uzņēmēju idejas, lai inovācijas kļūtu par reāliem risinājumiem.

Svarīga inovāciju ekosistēmas daļa ir arī LBTU Studentu biznesa inkubators, kas sniedz studentiem iespēju uzsākt uzņēmējdarbību un attīstīt idejas studiju laikā. Inkubators veicina sadarbību starp jauniem talantiem un industrijas pārstāvjiem, nodrošinot iespēju radīt inovatīvus risinājumus, izmantojot LBTU plašo infrastruktūru un pētniecības atbalstu. Regulāri tiek organizēti pirmsinkubācijas un inkubācijas cikli, kuros tiek akcentētas aktuālās nozares tēmas.

LBTU is one of the founders of the Strategic Alliance for Bioeconomy Research, which unites scientists and entrepreneurs to foster new opportunities in the bioeconomy. Bioeconomy focuses on the smart use of renewable resources, transforming them into food, feed, bio-based products, and energy, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of Latvia and the world. LBTU also represents in Latvia the world’s leading food innovation community – EIT Food – bringing together national partners to create a healthier and more sustainable food system.

As a scientific institution, LBTU achieves its strategic goals through applied research and close cooperation with businesses. Since 2006, Technology and Knowledge Transfer Centre (TEPEK) has been operating at the university to promote collaboration between researchers and enterprises, ensure intellectual property protection, and support the commercialisation of research results. We combine the knowledge of researchers with the ideas of entrepreneurs to turn innovations into real solutions.

LBTU Student Business Incubator is an essential part of our innovation ecosystem. It provides students with the opportunity to start entrepreneurship and develop ideas already during their studies. The incubator fosters collaboration between young talents and industry representatives, creating innovative solutions with the support of LBTU’s extensive infrastructure and research base. Regular pre-incubation and incubation cycles are organised, focusing on current industry challenges.
